In yet another instance of disagreement in the tripartite Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra, the Congress has extended its support to construct an oil refinery at Nanar village in Ratnagiri district. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has already announced that the State government will not proceed with the Nanar oil refinery project owing to strong opposition from locals.More Related News

The Karnataka government on Friday handed over 10 cases related to two incidents that had turned into political flashpoints — the Hubballi woman “disrobing” case and the Ballari firing case in which a Congress worker was killed — to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), a well-placed police source told The Hindu.
