First-time MP Chamala Kiran clocks 100% attendance in Parliament; Eatala tops with 80 questions
First-time MP Chamala Kiran Reddy achieved the unique distinction of attending the 18th Lok Sabha proceedings, from June 24, 2024 to April 4, 2025, without missing a single day, the performance data of Telangana MPs in the Lok Sabha revealed.
Mr. Kiran Reddy, who represents Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency also stood second in the list raising 79 questions during the same period, one behind Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, who asked 80 questions. They were followed by DK Aruna with 73, Suresh Shetkar - 62, and Dharmapuri Arvind - 59.
The performance of Telangana MPs in terms of participation through questions and attendance showed only a few MPs taking the proceedings seriously.
Etala Rajender stood second in the attendance figures registering 91.17% attendance.
Other MPs whose attendance was impressive were Mahabubnagar MP D.K. Aruna - 88.23%, Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind - 88.23%, and Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar - 86.76%.
Hyderabad MP from AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi, topped in Telangana as far as debates were concerned. He participated in 21 debates. He was followed by Chamala Kiran Reddy who participated in 17 debates, DK Aruna - 14, and Mallu Ravi - 10.
Some MPs did not participate even in a single debate while a few others were found at the lower end of the list. These included Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy - 0, Dharmapuri Arvind - 2, Balram Naik - 3, Godam Nagesh - 4, Kadiyam Kavya and Suresh Shetkar - 5 each, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy - 6, Raghunandan Rao and Vamsi Krishna - 7 each.
