Fire breaks out at a saree showroom in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills; firefighting efforts ongoing, no casualties reported.
A major fire broke out at Mangala Gowri showroom, a saree store, on Road no. 36 in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad on Thursday (February 26, 2026) morning, sending plumes of thick smoke into the sky and triggering panic among local residents and shopkeepers.
According to officials at the Fire Department’s Control Room, a distress call was received at 11.29 a.m., following which four fire engines were dispatched to the spot. Firefighters began operations immediately to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjoining buildings.
Dense smoke was seen billowing from the structure — which was designed in the style of a temple, drawing crowds and causing traffic congestion in the busy commercial stretch.
No casualties have been reported so far. Four people stuck in the store were rescued by the Fire department and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) personnel. Firefighting operations are currently underway, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
