Elephant found dead in Arakalgud in Hassan district of Karnataka

The animal’s death came to light within hours after a woman was killed in an elephant attack near Arehalli in neighbouring Belur taluk.
A tusker, aged about 25 years, was found dead at Nelaballi village in Arakalgud taluk in Hassan district of Karnataka, on March 15. The carcass was found in an agricultural land belonging to Venkategowda, a farmer.
The cause of death is not known.
Officials have reached the spot. The elephant is suspected to have died of electrocution.
The local people found the body of the animal. They informed the local police and forest officials.
