District-level committee to assess seizure claims established in Krishnagiri

A district-level committee in Krishnagiri has been formed to assess and verify seizure claims of goods and cash.
A district-level grievances committee has been established for claims against seizures of goods and cash in Krishnagiri. The committee convenes every 24 hours to ascertain the claims brought by owners and upon verification of the documents produced, the seized cash is released. Addressing the media, District Election Officer and Collector C. Dinesh Kumar said that as of date, seven cases involving seizure of ₹56 lakh has been restored to the owners.
Over two lakh freebies including sarees were seized cumulatively from Bargur, Thally and Vepanapalli constituencies. A police investigation is underway and FIR has been registered. Upon confirmation of the involvement of the political party concerned, an FIR will be registered against the political party, the Collector said.
Seizures
Cash worth ₹3,76,85,000 was seized by the flying squads.
The seizures included 1,508 litres of liquor that included 30 litre of Indian-made foreign liquor from Karnataka, 223 bottles of local liquor, and 48 litres of toddy. The vehicle checks also led to the seizure of 200 kg of ganja worth ₹1 crore near the Kandikuppam police limits.
All Assembly constituencies at any given point has three teams each under static surveillance team (SST), flying squad team (FST), video surveillance teams (VST) and video viewing team (VVT). There are 54 teams, nine each operating for each constituencies.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
