A discussion on the violation of minority rights was held here on Sunday (April 27, 2025). Kaleeswaram Raj, a lawyer, delivered the keynote address at the conference organised by the Indian Human Rights Movement.
Felix J. Pulludan, president of the organisation, presided over the meeting. N. Madhavan Kutty, T.A. Ahmed Kabeer, Charles Dias, K.P. Sankaran, P.T. John, and M.D. Alice were among those who spoke.

After mandating pet dog licensing and microchipping, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) bids to do the same for cattle to curb stray cattle issues and man-animal conflicts in the streets. The civic body has moved to make it compulsory for cattle owners to obtain licenses for their animals across all zones.
