Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, on Wednesday (June 18, 2025), laid the foundation for 49 new infrastructure projects in 26 temples under the control of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Department, amounting to ₹217.98 crore. He also inaugurated 33 completed projects – including 16 temple-related works and 15 administrative offices – worth ₹21.5 crore through video conferencing from the Secretariat in Chennai.
Some of the new infrastructure projects include the construction of annadhanam hall, puja items sales centre, and vehicle parking facilities at the Subramania Swami Temple in Tiruttani; a water tank, community hall and staff quarters at the Subramania Swami Temple in Kumaravayalur, Tiruchi; and an administrative building at the Dhandayuthapani Swami Temple in Palani.
Other key projects include new rajagopurams, marriage halls, temple tanks, staff quarters and compound walls in temples at Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Tenkasi, and Krishnagiri districts.
The completed projects inaugurated by the Chief Minister include new marriage halls, renovated temple tanks, and administrative enhancements such as Assistant Commissioner offices, multi-purpose buildings, annadhanam halls, and other facilities for devotees in various districts.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekarbabu, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam, and Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department K. Manivasan were among those present.
