CM Adityanath invites Japanese investors to Uttar Pradesh, highlighting its growth potential and cultural significance for industrial cooperation.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in Tokyo, Japan, on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) urged Japanese industrialists to visit Uttar Pradesh, invest in the State and experience its spiritual destinations.
Mr. Adityanath, who participated in a grand U.P. Investment Road Show in Tokyo, expressed confidence that investment in U.P. would further strengthen India-Japan industrial cooperation in the future.
“Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the most preferred state for investment in India due to its secure environment, strong infrastructure, large market potential and young workforce. I salute Japan, this sacred land. Uttar Pradesh is the holy birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Ram of the Suryavansh. It is also the sacred karmabhoomi of Bhagwan Buddha. Some of the most significant global sites associated with Bhagwan Buddha, including Kapilvastu, Sarnath, Shravasti, Kushinagar and Kaushambi, are located in Uttar Pradesh.” said CM Adityanath.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ramayana Circuit and Buddhist Circuit are being effectively developed, giving new momentum to spiritual tourism. When we speak of Bhagwan Shree Ram and Bhagwan Buddha, it connects to the great Suryavansh tradition whose first ray rises on the land of Japan. With this sense of cultural affinity, I welcome you all,” he said, adding, “Uttar Pradesh, with a population of 25 crore, is the country’s largest consumer market. The larger the population, the greater the challenges and the greater the opportunities. Over the past nine years, the state’s economy and per capita income have nearly tripled,”.
Mr. Adityanath also informed the Japanese that a State (U.P.) once referred to as BIMARU has today become the growth engine of India’s economy. “Despite having only 11% of the country’s agricultural land, Uttar Pradesh produces nearly 21% of the nation’s food grains. This creates significant investment opportunities in food processing, packaging and Agri logistics,” he said.
Upon his arrival in Tokyo, Junichi Ishidara, Vice Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, also welcomed U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. CM Yogi Adityanath’s Japan visit is part of an official tour of the two countries and marks his first official visit to Japan. For many members of the diaspora, the moment was especially significant as they witnessed the Chief Minister of their home state representing Uttar Pradesh on a global platform.
