Chandragupta took charge as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Western Range) here on Sunday.
Earlier, he was Police Commissioner of Mysuru.
A 2006 batch IPS officer, he had also served as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Prisons, Bengaluru.
