Hundreds of devotees gathered at the Sri Kanyakaparameswari temple in Vizianagaram city on Wednesday to offer special prayers to the presiding deity, on the occasion of her birth anniversary. The deity was adorned with a gold sari and diamond-studded crown.
As part of the festivities, the temple’s trust board chairman Narayanam Srinivas, along with other trust board members led a traditional rally through the city on Wednesday evening.
The temple which stands in the heart of the city was constructed 135 years ago. Mr. Srinivas informed that through 25 modern art form installations, the temple has showcased the history of Goddess Kanyakaparameswari.
In addition to the rituals, the temple trust board has organised several charitable activities on the special occasion.
Devotees visiting the temple also offered prayers at the Annapurna Samaeta Kasi Visweswara temple and Lord Krishna temple located in the same premises.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
