APTF demands immediate announcement of PRC and IR for teachers, organizing a dharna at Jantar Mantar on March 10, 2026.
Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation (APTF) members have staged a dharna, demanding the State government to resolve the long pending issues of the teachers, at Prakasam Bhavan in Ongole on Thursday.
On a call given by APTF State leadership, the dharna programme was organised by the federation’s Prakasam district members, seeking the government to immediately announce the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and Interim Relief (IR) to the teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, APTF Ongole Zone Convener Sheikh Bashirinnisa said that despite the change of governments, the problems of the teachers and school workers have not yet been resolved.
APTF Prakasam District Chief Secretary B. Sesha Rao said, “The PRC has been pending for more than two years. The PRC commission has not been appointed, and four DAs are due (for every six months). The PRC commission and 30 per cent I.R. should be announced soon.”
He demanded that the burden of apps and online work should be reduced and teachers should be limited to teaching programmes. Two posts be sanctioned to the single-teacher schools irrespective of the number of students on roll.
APTF State President Ch. Manjula, who was the chief guest at the dharna, said that the dues of ₹25,000 crore are still pending. She demanded that the gratuity and provident fund payments due after retirement have been accumulated and should be paid immediately.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
