AISF protest against ‘irregularities’ by junior college

AISF leaders detained by police in Vijayawada following protest against corporate college irregularities.
Leaders of Andhra Pradesh State committee of All-India Student Federation (AISF) were detained by police while they were staging a protest at a corporate college in Vijayawada on Wednesday (June 18) alleging large-scale irregularities committed by the management.
Accusing the college management of fleecing students and their parents by collecting exorbitant fee and operating in gross violation of the rule book, they staged a sit-in at the college building and raised slogans demanding action against the management.
The police detained them and shifted them to the Machavaram police station.
Federation State president G. Valaraju, vice-president Sai Kumar, secretary B. Naser, assistant state secretaries Phanindra and Shabbir Basha, NTR district secretary Karthik and State committee members Sadiq and Rangaswamy participated in the protest.
The activists said they would continue their agitation till action was initiated against the management.
