A pilot study commissioned by the Directorate of Collegiate Education into digital learning during the COVID-19 era found 65% of college students did not possess laptops, personal computers, and tablets. However, smartphone availability among students has considerably improved with nearly 80% having exclusive use of the device. The findings came to light during a research study undertaken by the Psychological Resource Centre, Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram, on the academic and psycho-social functioning of college students amid the pandemic.More Related News

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
