After losing his new iPhone in Delhi, travel vlogger Krish Yadav received an unexpected call from a stranger who returned his device.
A travel vlogger’s phone, stolen in Delhi last year, was returned six months later after a stranger tracked him down and called him directly.
Travel vlogger Krish Yadav recently shared a video on Instagram recounting how a phone he had long given up for lost was returned to him in the most surprising way. Yadav revealed that he had purchased his new iPhone on January 10, 2025, during the Mahakumbh, only to lose it months later in August while in Delhi. Like many who lose their phones in crowded cities, he assumed it was gone forever.
Six months later, however, Yadav received an unexpected call from an unknown number. On the other end of the line was a stranger who calmly told him that his phone was safe and with him. Initially sceptical and unsure whether it was a scam, Yadav nevertheless decided to take a chance. He boarded a 3 am train to Delhi, driven by a mix of hope and disbelief.
To his surprise, the call turned out to be genuine. The stranger handed over the phone without asking for anything in return, choosing honesty over convenience in a situation where keeping the device would have been far easier.
