To support his argument, he also referred to the death of the former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli strike on February 28. "Even the (Supreme) Leader was martyred, yet the system continued its work," he said.

Iran has sent out a strong message to the United States and Israel following the killing of Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday. Iranian foreign minister Syed Abbas Araghchi has said that his country will continue fighting the US & Israel despite the loss of Larijani.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has a strong political structure with established political, economic, and social institutions. The presence or absence of a single individual does not affect this structure," Araghchi told Al Jazeera in an interview.

Larijani, one of Iran’s most powerful political figures and head of its Supreme National Security Council, was killed in an air strike at his daughter’s home near Tehran along with his son, deputy and bodyguards, Iranian authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

To support his argument, he also referred to the death of the former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israeli strike on February 28. "Even the (Supreme) Leader was martyred, yet the system continued its work," he said.
