Niti Aayog member Ramesh Chand on Sunday said the target of doubling farmers' income by 2022 will not be fulfilled if the three new farm laws are not implemented immediately, adding that the protesting farm unions should consider the government's offer of discussing the legislations clause by clause. In an interview to PTI, Mr Chand further said the blanket ban on genetically modified crops is not the right approach. The government and unions representing farmers, who have been camping at Delhi's border for four months in protest against the three laws that they say will end sState procurement of crops at MSP, have held 11 rounds of talks, the last being on January 22.
