Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal criticizes DMK's dynastic politics and corruption while campaigning for BJP's S. Kirthika in Erode.
Union Minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal on Thursday (April 9, 2026) alleged that the DMK government “ranks first in dynastic politics and second in corruption.”
Campaigning for S. Kirthika, the BJP’s candidate for the Modakkurichi Assembly constituency, at Avalpoondurai, the Union Minister claimed that despite several schemes announced by the Union government for Tamil Nadu, their benefits had not fully reached the people due to corruption in the State government, which, he said, had hampered development.
Calling it the “right time for change,” Mr. Meghwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had fielded the “right candidate” in the constituency. Highlighting women’s role in development, Mr. Meghwal said their contribution would be crucial in achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047 and cited Ms. Kirthika as an example.
The Union Minister also referred to the Kasi Tamil Sangamam initiative aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. He concluded his address by singing a devotional song and urged the gathering to join him.
