Science Day model-making contest held at St. Philomena’s College

St. Philomena’s College hosts Science Day model-making contest, showcasing creativity and awarding prizes for outstanding student innovations.
In a vibrant display of scientific temper and creativity, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Physics (UG & PG) at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysuru, jointly organised the Oak Jubilee National Science Day 2026 (Phase II) Model Making Competition here recently.
The competition featuring nearly 40 working models displayed by students from various city colleges was formally inaugurated and presided over by Lourdu Prasad Joseph.
Principal Ravi J.D. Saldanha, Vice Principal (Administration), Ronald Prakash Cutinha, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Physics A. Thomas Gunaseelan, PG Physics Head Sachin, and IQAC Co-Coordinator, Deepa V., were present.
Cash prizes were awarded to the three best models presented during the competition. The array models were judged by a panel comprising Mr. Cutinha, Uzma Bathool, and Lydia Vandana. Mr. Gunaseelan highlighted the institution’s commitment to academic quality and innovation.
