Ego of some people led to war, says Mohan Bhagwat

Mohan Bhagwat emphasises that ego fuels conflict, urging selfless action for humanity's unity and Hinduism's inclusive nature.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the egos of some people have created the events leading to war. “A lasting solution to all the problems of humanity will come from the annihilation of the ego. All of us should work selflessly towards the goal of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam ( world is one family),” the RSS chief said here on Saturday.
“However, thinking about one’s self-interest is not bad. In fact, it is necessary for individual advancement. Today’s youth should not only think of themselves and their families, but also about issues of national interest,’’ he said. He was speaking after inaugurating the Go Tulabhara event at Sri Kadadevara Math in Yadur near Chikkodi in Belagavi district.
“Hinduism is not just a religion; it is a way of life, it is defined by the character of its followers,” he said.
Mr. Bhagwat said that the defining feature of Hinduism is its inclusiveness. “Developing society in an organised manner and accepting diversity and taking everyone on our path and respecting everyone’s faith is the true religion,” he said. “Hinduism is a religion that respects everyone’s faith and strives for the development of everyone. We should work in such a way that the world considers Hinduism as the Vishwa Guru through religious awareness and social awareness,” he said.
Channasiddharama Panditaradhya Shivacharya Mahaswami said that this was an unforgettable moment in the history of Tirthakshetra. Highlighting the work of RSS during the pandemic, he said, “The service rendered by RSS to the people during the COVID pandemic is commendable. The younger generation should work under the guidance of leaders like Mohan Bhagwat and dedicate their lives to the service of society”.
“Religious awareness and protection of our religion are necessary. If religion and the country are protected, true happiness and satisfaction are achieved. The younger generation should give importance to religious awareness and protection of the country,” the seer said.
