More than 40 school children injured in school bus-lorry collision accident in Ramanathapuram

A school bus-lorry collision in Ramanathapuram injured 46 children, prompting safety measures and an investigation into the accident.
A head-on collision between a private school bus and a lorry on the Ramanathapuram-Rameswaram National Highway near Chatrakudi on Tuesday morning left 46 children injured.
According to police, the private school bus was transporting students to school when it was hit by an oncoming lorry, causing the vehicle to topple onto the roadside.
In addition to the students, two teachers and the driver sustained injuries. All victims were promptly transported to the Ramanathapuram Government Medical College Hospital for medical care.
District Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon and Superintendent of Police G. Chandeesh inspected the accident site and visited the injured at the hospital.
Speaking to the press, the Collector confirmed that all children were safe and suffered only from minor injuries. He noted that while three children sustained head injuries, diagnostic scans confirmed they are stable and out of danger.
He further informed that the lorry driver responsible for the crash has been arrested and remanded.
