Chennai police commissioner addresses 250 petitions from officers at a grievance camp, focusing on personnel welfare and service issues.
The Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A. Arun on Tuesday conducted a special grievance redressal camp for police personnel at the Commissioner’s Office in Vepery, and received petitions from 250 officers and staff.
The petitions were submitted by personnel from the Law and Order wings across the city’s four zones and included seven Inspectors, 30 Sub-Inspectors, two ministerial staff, and 211 police personnel. The grievances were related to transfers, withdrawal of punishments, requests for police quarters, rectification of pay anomalies, and other service matters.
The Commissioner directed the officers concerned to take immediate action on the petitions, stating that resolving personnel issues was essential to ensure the welfare of police families, and to help the force discharge its duties efficiently.
