Alumni of Madras Medical College launch "The Universal Health Code," a guidebook for promoting a healthy lifestyle.
About 50 doctors, all alumni of the Madras Medical College, together launched a book The Universal Health Code. The book, which is an owner’s manual for the human body, was researched and compiled by the doctors and was released at a function held in the city on Tuesday.
Ravi Pachamuthu, chairman of SRM Group, congratulated Vijay C. Bose, joint director and senior consultant, SIMS Hospital, for the effort in producing the book. Mohamed Rela, chairman of Rela Hospital, in his address, said overeating and lack of exercise had become the bane of society. Today, the country stands second to China with 780 million tonnes of food being wasted every year.
Dr. Bose said in a situation where chronic diseases were rising due to bad lifestyle habits, this book would serve as a guide for leading a healthy lifestyle. Cricketer Dinesh Karthik and television anchor C. Gopinath were among those present.
