
Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University to launch diploma in early childhood care and pre-school education

Bengaluru City University introduces a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Pre-school Education to enhance professional training for staff.
Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University will launch, for the first time in the State, a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Pre-school Education (DECCPE) to provide appropriate professional training to staff working in anganwadis under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and other pre-primary schools.
An official Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Registrar A. Naveen Joseph with Indumathi Rao, regional advisor of the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Network (South Asia), for the commencement of this diploma programme recognised by Government of Karnataka in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor Ramesh B.
This one-year diploma programme will be offered in both online and offline modes and will be available in Kannada and English. Candidates who have completed Pre-University Course (PUC) are eligible to apply. For anganwadi workers with three years of experience, SSLC qualification will be sufficient. In addition, a six-month certificate course will also be offered.
Another Memorandum of Understandingwas signed with O.P. Goel, CEO of Reach My Higher (RMH) Foundation, which has a strategic partnership with Oracle Academy, to provide industry-relevant skills and professional training that enhance employability among students.
Through this programme, interested undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university and its affiliated colleges will receive a total of 90 hours of training. The training will cover several important areas, including digital and data skills, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, soft skills and professional communication.
The foundation will also assist the university in faculty development and curriculum revision in line with emerging industry requirements.
