Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services Department organised a Salary Package Mela in Hyderabad to extend Police Salary Package banking benefits to 1,332 prison personnel across the State.
The Telangana Prisons and Correctional Services Department organised a Salary Package Mela at the State Institute of Correctional Administration in Hyderabad to provide enhanced banking and financial security benefits to prison personnel across the State.
A total of 1,332 prison personnel are being brought under the Police Salary Package benefits. These include accident, life and air accident insurance coverage, salary overdraft facilities, and access to personal loans as well as loans for daughters’ marriage and children’s education, with waiver of pre-closing and processing charges. The package also provides health check-ups and medical benefits, lifestyle facilities such as gym and lounge access, spa and OTT subscriptions, along with concessions on locker facilities.
Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services Soumya Mishra urged personnel to interact with bank representatives, understand the full range of entitlements and take informed financial decisions for their families’ welfare.
As part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives, State Bank of India and Canara Bank handed over battery-operated vehicles to the Prisons Department for the benefit of elderly and ailing inmates. The vehicles were formally presented during the event.
In a related development, officials said that of 422 salary accounts in the Office of the Commissioner of Printing and Stationery, 350 are maintained with State Bank of India, which has agreed to extend the State government salary package to these account holders.
