Collector releases awareness short films on anti-drugs and road safety in Namakkal

Namakkal Collector launches short films on anti-drugs and road safety to promote awareness among students and reduce incidents.
Namakkal District Collector Durgamoorthi released awareness short films on anti-drugs and road safety on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
In order to reduce road accidents and to eradicate drug usage among students, the Namakkal district administration has been taking various steps, including the formation of drug prevention and road safety clubs and awareness programme initiatives. As a part this effort, the Collector released short films focusing on eradication of drugs, road safety, and traffic rules, at a function held at the auditorium in Government Law College.
The short films on anti-drugs named Neeye Un Paathai and Enga Satham Kekutha were produced on behalf of district administration and Roja was produced by the district police, based on road safety and anti-drug. The Collector said that these short films will be broadcasted in all schools and colleges to create awareness.
The Collector honoured the technicians of these short films and encouraged people who have created awareness films or songs regarding anti-drugs and road safety, to submit their work to the district administration and steps will be taken to telecast the same in schools and colleges. In the function, school and college students, theatre owners, driving school officials, and officials from departments concerned also participated.
