Cavalier Cricket Club wins 27th AM/NS India–The Hindu FIC Cricket Trophy, defeating Galaxy by 47 runs.
Cavalier Cricket Club has won the 27th edition of the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) India–The Hindu FIC Cricket Trophy, here on Monday (April 28, 2025). This was the fourth time that Cavaliers won the trophy. The finals were played at Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA stadium.
They defeated last year’s winner Galaxy Cricket Club by 47 runs.
Batting first, Cavaliers set up a target of 282 in 49.3 overs, with M. Abhinav scoring a 100 in 122 balls from nine hits to the fence.
Galaxy Cricket Club was bundled out for 235, with Shamsher Yadav chipping in with a well-made 65 followed by G. Mahesh’s 44 and M. Hemanth’s 32.
For Cavaliers, Preethpal Singh, B. Munish Varma and Nitin Tanwar took two wickets each. Earlier, Varun Choudary took three wickets for 51 runs for Galaxy.
Presenting the trophy to the winning team, Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankabrata Bagchi said India is no longer an underdog in the world of cricket. Today, it has transformed to be the world leaders.
Congratulating the winners and the runners up, he said there are a lot of opportunities for young cricketers with the advent of IPL.
