
Archaeologist chosen for first Adima Kala Ratna award

Ravindra Korisettar receives the first Adima Kala Ratna award.
Adima Kala Trust of Udupi has chosen Ravindra Korisettar, an archaeologist and adjunct professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru, for its first Adima Kala Ratna award.
The award, which carries ₹25,000 as prize money and a certificate, will be presented to him at a function at MGM College in Udupi on March 1 at 10 a.m.
Mr. Korisettar, a recipient of the Kannada Rajyotsava award for 2025, is actively working in the archaeological field throughout India. Robert Bruce Foote Sanganakallu Archaeological Museum in Ballari was his dream child, T. Murugueshi, founding convener of the trust, said in a release.
