Anbumani calls on father and PMK founder Ramadoss at Thailapuram amid speculation of rapprochement
Amid the family feud that has cast a shadow over the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), its leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Thursday (June 5, 2025) called on his father and party founder S. Ramadoss at the family’s Thailapuram residence near Tindivanam in Villupuram district.
Mr. Anbumani was accompanied by one of his daughters, Sanjuthra, during the deliberations. Although it was not immediately known what transpired at the meeting between the two, there was speculation that a rapprochement was being worked out to restore unity within the party.
The 45-minute-long discussion that Mr. Anbumani had with his father was a surprise development for party functionaries and reporters who were waiting outside Mr. Ramadoss’ residence, expecting that Mr. Anbumani would address the press. However, he skipped meeting them.
Later, RSS ideologue and Thuglak editor S. Gurumurthy and former AIADMK legislator Saidai S. Duraisamy met Dr. Ramadoss at Thailapuram.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
