WhatsApp faces outage, down for thousands of users

Meta-owned WhatsApp is facing problems with thousands of users complaining of outages on Twitter.

The instant messaging platform is relied upon by individuals as well as businesses to share information.
The outage have also been reported by Downdetector, a website that tracks realtime technology related outages. So far some twenty-eight thousand outages have been reported in the past one hour.
WhatsApp currently has over 350 million monthly active users in India. The platform had earlier this year rolled out features to help businesses connect with users in the country.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
