Water level in MullaPeriyar dam stands at 141 feet

MullaPeriyar & Vaigai dams in Madurai have water levels below permissible levels, with no rain in the last 24 hours.
The water level in MullaPeriyar dam was 141 feet (permissible level 142 ft) with an inflow of 1,230 cusecs and a discharge of 1300 cusecs. The water level in Vaigai dam was 62.52 ft (maximum level 71 ft) with an inflow of 1,906 cusecs and a discharge of 2,149 cusecs. There was no rain in the region during the last 24 hours ending 6 a.m. on Sunday, PWD officials said.
