VMRDA launches VISTA app for seamless digital tourism, eliminating queues and enhancing access to attractions in Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) is moving ahead with full digitalisation of the city’s tourism services, VMRDA Chairperson M. V. Pranav Gopal said.
Announcing the launch of VISTA (VMRDA Integrated Smart Ticketing Application) on Saturday, he said the platform has been developed to offer a seamless and hassle-free experience for visitors to parks, museums and other tourist destinations managed by the authority.
The application is expected to do away with long queues and procedural delays by enabling online bookings, thereby ensuring faster and more efficient services for both local residents and tourists visiting the city.
Mr. Pranav Gopal said the VISTA app goes beyond ticketing and serves as a comprehensive digital platform. It provides features such as navigation maps to help tourists locate destinations, real-time updates, booking history and a feedback mechanism aimed at improving transparency and service delivery.
A key feature of the application is visit scheduling, which allows users to plan their trips in advance and optimise their time while exploring various attractions.
He said the initiative forms part of a larger effort to make Visakhapatnam’s tourism infrastructure more accessible, user-friendly and technology-driven.
