Graduants should stay relevant in a rapidly evolving technological landscape, Coursera managing director Ashutosh Gupta here said here on Saturday.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, he said that continuous learning beyond formal education, coupled with effective communication and adaptability were a few factors key to success.
Guest of Honour Divisional Commissioner (Jaipur) V. Saravana Kumar, an alumnus of the institution, motivated the graduants to embrace real-world challenges and opportunities. He stressed the importance of self-belief, continuous learning and personal growth, while dispelling myths about institutional superiority.
Chairman and correspondent K. Hari Thiagarajan in his presidential address lauded the 2025 batch for their perseverance and hard work. He emphasised the importance of return on investment in education, urging students to leverage artificial intelligence, communication skills and global exposure to enhance career prospects.
Stressing adaptability during challenging times, he also encouraged graduates to remain explorative, reinvent their skills and even aspire towards civil services in building the nation.
College principal L. Ashok Kumar in his welcome address gave an outline of the challenges of the evolving curriculum and the importance of upholding the institution’s legacy. He also underscored the state-of-the-art facilities at the college that enabled students to stay abreast of a rapidly changing world.
