Seeman promises to end freebies, pledging free essential services and local job creation in Tiruchi campaign.
Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) coordinator Seeman on Saturday advocated the abolition of freebies while assuring the voters that his government would provide essential services such as education, healthcare, and drinking water free of cost.
Addressing a campaign meeting at Marakkadai in Tiruchi, he said governance should prioritise fundamental needs over “vote-seeking incentives.” “We will not distribute freebies. Instead, we will ensure that basic amenities reach every household,” he said.
Mr. Seeman promised to address energy needs by producing biogas locally. “We will generate biogas within Tiruchi and supply it to the people, ensuring uninterrupted availability of cooking gas cylinders without shortages,” he said.
Condemning alcoholism, he alleged that the State government earned about ₹50,000 crore annually from liquor sales. “That has become the economy. We will instead focus on a milk-based economy. It is for the people to decide what kind of politics they want,” Mr. Seeman said.
Urging voters to reject monetary inducements, he said: “Ask those who give you money: you say you are coming to serve me, then why are you paying me?”
Highlighting unemployment, Mr. Seeman said about 70 lakh candidates had appeared for TNPSC examinations to fill about 3,500 vacancies, reflecting the scale of joblessness. He said his party would create employment opportunities based on local needs within villages.
