YSRCP MLC Botcha Satyanarayana criticizes the NDA government for neglecting Andhra Pradesh's Special Category Status and development needs.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLC Botcha Satyanarayana has criticised the NDA government, alleging that its focus on Amaravati is driven more by publicity than by genuine development.
“Why is the government not making efforts to obtain the Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh?” he asked while addressing the media, here, on Saturday.
Mr. Satyanarayana said that achieving the SCS tag would help the State develop multiple cities like Amaravati, ensuring significant economic growth.
“Despite many years, even the basic infrastructure, such as roads along the river embankment, remains incomplete. The construction of quarters for Ministers, MLAs, and even housing for Class IV employees has not been completed in the past two years. The government must release a White Paper detailing the expenditure and progress made in Amaravati in the past two years,” he said and demanded clarity on the timeline for completing the capital city project.
Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that while farmers were struggling due to the lack of remunerative prices, the Arogyasri scheme was stalled, and the students were facing hardships because of pending fee reimbursement dues.
“The government is prioritising large-scale construction works, but has failed to respond to the public issues effectively,” he alleged.
