UNSC drops Taliban reference from statement on terror activities in Afghanistan

The United Nations Security Council has dropped the reference to the Taliban in a recurring paragraph in its statements on Afghanistan. The marked change was observed in a UNSC statement condemning "deplorable attacks" near the Kabul airport.

The attacks, which were claimed by Islamic State in Khorasan Province (ISKP), an entity affiliated with Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/Da’esh), resulted in the death of over 170 people, including 13 US servicemen.More Related News
