
Rythu Discom to commence full-fledged operations from June 2

Meeting works out on structure, HR deployment of Rythu Discom

The structure, operational framework, human resource deployment, segregation of assets from the two existing Discoms and guidelines for governance for the new power distribution company - The Telangana Rythu Power Distribution Company Ltd (TGRPDCL or Rythu Discom) that came into being technically from April 1, were discussed at a meeting held here on Thursday.
Senior executives and officials of the Rythu Discom, experts from the Energy Division of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) and professionals with expertise in policy and management participated in the meeting and held in-depth discussions on strategic aspects related to the new power utility’s formation.
The discussions focused on identifying the assets to be transferred from the two existing Discoms to Rythu Discom, valuation processes and ensuring transparent mechanism for asset division along with technical, financial implications and guidelines for allocation of employees, skill-based deployment, recruitment of required personnel, training programmes and formulation of service rules.
Further, deliberations were held on segregating agricultural, irrigation, water works and other relevant consumers and integrating them into Rythu Discom, the process of data consolidation, creation of an accurate consumer database and simplification of service delivery.
Clarity was achieved on the policy framework, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the delineation of responsibilities, according to the Chairman and Managing Director of the Rythu Discom, Musharraf Faruqui. It will commence full-fledged operations from June 2.
