Adani Krishnapatnam Port reports 59.22 MMT cargo handling in FY 2025-26, marking an 8% growth and record efficiency.
Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL) on Thursday announced that it has handled cargo of 59.22 million metric tonnes (MMT) in the financial year (FY) 2025-26, registering eight per cent growth in throughput over the previous year. It claims to have recorded the highest monthly volume of 5.85 MMT in June 2025, since the inception of the port.
“The port has handled as many as 1,071 vessels and record cargo of 59.22 MMT with customer focus approach, operational excellence, infrastructure strength, technology adoption, and seamless coordination. It had also diversified its cargo by adding new ones such as laterite, soda ash, rock phosphate and yellow peas,” the company said in a press release.
“The record cargo handling was achieved with the higher berth occupancy, seamless vessel operations supported by strong safety and emergency response mechanism. The port optimised its capability to handle five deep draft cape size vessels simultaneously, which is the highest in India, thus maximising parcel size and efficiency,” it added.
The AKPL management, credited the team effort for achieving the milestones. The port has always been focusing on faster cargo evacuation which helps clients to receive timely dispatch. On rail front, AKPL has dispatched 6,006 rakes, claimed to be the highest since its inception.
