Tamil Nadu Class 1-5 exams rescheduled to April 7-17 due to rising temperatures, Class 6-9 dates unchanged.
As the temperatures continue to rise, annual exams for Classes 1-5 in Tamil Nadu have been preponed and will begin on April 7, the School Education Department announced on Sunday (March 30, 2025).
According to a circular issued by the department, the exams will be conducted from April 7 to 17 as requested by the parents and associations due to the rising heat temperatures. However, the exam dates for Class 6-9 are likely to remain unchanged.
Earlier, the exams were scheduled from April 9 till April 21 for primary classes and from April 8 till 24 for classes 6 to 9. The exams will be conducted from 10 a.m. till 12 noon on the days scheduled, the department noted.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
