The Tiruchi Lok Sabha member Durai Vaiko has requested the Tiruchi Railway Division to take steps to rectify the display board and the public announcement system at the Tiruverumbur railway station to enable passengers to receive timely information regarding train arrivals and platform details.
In a memorandum to Tiruchi Divisional Railway Manager, the MP said it was brought to his notice by the public that the digital display board at the station had not been functioning making it difficult for the passengers to know the platform on which the trains were arriving.
The public announcement system was not functioning properly. This caused hardship to passengers, especially elderly people, women, and first-time travellers, in boarding the trains, he added.
