Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar is all set to undertake a 40-km padayatra, christened ‘Anjanna Ashirvada Yatra’, from Karimnagar to the famous Kondagattu hill shrine in Jagtial district on Saturday (March 14).
BJP’s newly elected representatives of the rural and urban local bodies and party cadres from the Karimnagar Parliamentary Constituency are set to participate in the padayatra.
According to BJP sources, Mr. Sanjay’s padayatra is intended to fulfill a vow to Lord Anjanna, the presiding deity of Kondagattu temple, and promote ‘spiritual devotion’.
The padayatra is scheduled to begin at Mahashakti temple in Karimnagar at 7 a.m. on Saturday and conclude at Kondagattu temple late in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sanjay urged party workers to maintain discipline and ensure that there is no traffic congestion on the roads during the padayatra in view of the SSC public examinations slated to begin on Saturday (March 14).
