BRS accuses CM of misleading Assembly regarding ADB loan for the Musi River project, demanding clarification and accountability.
HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Harish Rao demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy clarify whether he had misled the Assembly in the matter of ADB loan to the Musi Riverfront Development project, and if not, the Opposition party would move a privilege motion notice against the CM.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he stated that the Chief Minister had told the Assembly during the session in January that the Asian Development Bank had sanctioned ₹4,100 crore for the MRD project.
However, the ADB had stated on December 15, 2025 that the State government was yet to submit the detailed project report, and on January 23 this year, it reiterated the same. In its letter dated March 11, it had clarified that it had not sanctioned the loan, he explained.
How could the Chief Minister mislead the Assembly, he sought to know, and wanted clarity from the government whether it would be Musi cleansing or beautification. There was no clarity on the buffer zone limit, with conflicting statements like 9 meters, 30 meters, and now CM claiming 100 meters.
Mr. Harish Rao pointed out that the Chief Minister had himself told the Assembly in January that it would take about 18 months to prepare a DPR. He sought to know how eviction notices were issued without the DPR and how a gazette notification would be issued notifying 10,017 structures/houses for demolition. The government had already demolished 300 houses in Chaderghat.
