Two arrested for posting abusive content against actress Anasuya Bharadwaj online

Two individuals were arrested for posting abusive content against actress Anasuya Bharadwaj on social media, facing legal action.
The cyber crimes wing of the Cyberabad police arrested two persons in connection with posting abusive, defamatory and objectionable content against actress Anasuya Bharadwaj on social media platforms.
According to the police, a complaint was received from the actress stating that since December 23, 2025, several persons and social media pages had been posting and circulating defamatory, abusive and obscene comments targeting her on various online platforms, causing harm to her reputation and dignity. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under the relevant sections of the Information Technology Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the investigation, police identified one of the accused as Janardhan, 29, a resident of Indranagar in Hyderabad and a native of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh. Police said he operated an Instagram account under the name “@mmtt_official” and circulated electronic content targeting the actress, including an AI-fabricated video.
In a separate case linked to the circulation of abusive comments online, another accused identified as Kondapuram Arun Kumar, a resident of West Maredpally in Secunderabad and working as an auto driver, was also apprehended. Police said he frequently watched videos and reels on YouTube during his free time and had recently posted an abusive comment from his YouTube account after watching a reel featuring the actress.
Cybercrime police apprehended him at his residence on March 12. During verification, it was confirmed that the objectionable comment had been posted from his YouTube account using his mobile phone. The device has been seized and sent to forensic experts for further examination.
Police said further legal action is being taken against both the accused.
