Prabhas was the only choice for Adipurush, says Om Raut

Prabhas is gearing up for the release of Adipurush, one of the biggest films of his career. The movie has created a great deal of buzz among netizens for a variety of reasons. Now, director Om Raut has revealed that the Baahubali was the first and only choice of the biggie. He further said that the film would not have happened without Prabhas. Adipurush is a mythological drama, shot in Hindi and Telugu.

The official teaser of Adipurush was unveiled on October 2, much to the delight of fans. It, however, did not live up to expectations. Some felt that the VFX was underwhelming, while others felt that the characters did not look authentic. Amid this, Om Raut's comments about Prabhas have garnered attention. In an interview, the filmmaker said that the mass hero was his only choice for the role of Lord Ram. He also claimed that the actor played the character in a divine way.

"I always had Prabhas in my mind when I was writing Raghav’s character it became so compelling for me. If it was not him, I would have not made the film. The way he has played it is divine," he told Variety.

Adipurush is a mythological drama, based on The Ramayana, that celebrates the 'victory of good over evil'. The biggie has a strong cast that includes Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh. Adipurush is set to open in theatres on January 12, 2023.
