Dhurandhar 2 hangover: 5 unanswered questions that still hit hard
India Today
Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge has wreaked havoc at the box office and has largely received a positive response from critics and audiences. However, a few questions remain unanswered about some of the supporting characters in the film.
Dhurandhar, released last December, came as a silent assassin and killed it at the box office. It took a reasonable start for a big-budget film before going on to become the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Its sequel, however, has taken a different path. As anticipated, the bomb called Dhurandhar: The Revenge dropped at the box office on March 19 and tore most pre-existing records of Indian cinema to shreds. However, it also leaves behind a trail of unanswered questions in its debris.
The Aditya Dhar film was not simply a big commercial extravaganza, but also a thrilling cinematic experience. Political commentary aside, when watched purely through a cinematic lens, writer-director Aditya Dhar seems to have represented the spy thriller genre well. So much so that it could easily become an eye-opener for the rest of the filmmakers. Ram Gopal Varma even went to the extent of calling it, "a horror for all filmmakers who built their careers and fortunes on dumbed-down, over-the-top cinema, the kind that demanded the brain be left at home."
However, several subplots involving side characters remain unresolved - creeping up like a hangover as the high of Dhurandhar: The Revenge begins to fade. Here are five questions left unanswered in Dhurandhar: The Revenge
