Ram Gopal Varma says he wants to "wipe out" his past after watching Dhurandhar: The Revenge, calling it a game-changer. The filmmaker also explains why he chose The Syndicate over Sarkar 4, and what impresses him the most about director Aditya Dhar.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma on Thursday shared yet another review of Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In a note on social media, the director said he wants to "wipe out" his past and be "reborn" as a filmmaker in this post-Dhurandhar era.
The 63-year-old also revealed why he has chosen to make The Syndicate, instead of Sarkar 4, which he had announced earlier, calling it a tribute to Dhar's school of cinema. RGV said he is now gearing up for The Syndicate, signalling in his post that the film's theme resonates with the world of Dhurandhar.
In a note titled "WHY SYNDICATE and not SARKAR?', RGV said The Syndicate is the kind of cinema that can match the post-Dhurandhar wave - one he believes will reshape Indian filmmaking.
His full note:
"SYNDICATE is based on a premise What if the entire law and order of INDIA collapses in just one single day”
It will be almost like a HORROR film , not because of any super natural elements , but because it will bare open the horrors that exist in some human minds which they can enact TERRIFYINGLY
