Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar has issued an apology for his outfit choice on Eid. His apology came as several social media users trolled the 45-year-old for wearing a kurta without an undershirt.
In response, Zafar shared a sarcastic post saying he understands the issue has become a major concern for many lately and promised he would try not to repeat it. He also thanked people for pointing it out.
In a message shared on social media, Ali Zafar said, “I want to apologise to the nation for wearing a kurta without an undershirt and for performing the very serious act of watering plants while dressed in a traditional ajrak and dhoti on Eid.”
Zafar added in a sarcastic tone that he understands this has been “one of the most important national and global issues affecting everyone’s lives in recent days.” The actor assured that he would make every effort to avoid repeating such a mistake. He also thanked people for drawing attention to the matter.
Although his Instagram account is banned in India, a screenshot of his message has gone viral on social media.
