Actor Samyuktha is excited about Slumdog: 33 Temple Road, praising Tabu and her easy collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi under Puri Jagannadh. The pan-Indian action thriller is set for a June release.
Tamil actor Samyuktha is gearing up for her next release, Slumdog: 33 Temple Road, with Vijay Sethupathi and Puri Jagannadh. Ahead of its June release, the actor, in an exclusive chat with India Today, opened up about sharing screen space with Tabu, collaborating with Sethupathi, and working under filmmaker Puri Jagannadh for the upcoming action thriller.
Samyuktha on sharing space with Tabu
Talking about Tabu, Samyuktha couldn’t hide her admiration, recalling how surreal it felt to share screen space with someone she had grown up watching.
“She came with a lot of energy. I was in awe of her. She is very beautiful – very, very beautiful. She looks the same as she does on screen. I’ve watched Kandukondain Kandukondain – that is one of my favourite films of hers. Her South film with Mammootty Sir, Aishwarya Rai ma’am and Ajith Sir is a great film, with a great album. It’s one film that has been my all-time favourite. I’ve watched her other films too, but when I watched that, it felt different. Virasat is also one of my favourites. I have always watched her, and then to see her in person – I was awestruck. I was working with her, I was on set with her,” she said.
She further shared how she approached interacting with the senior actor on set. “I didn’t really hesitate to break the ice. I’m quite out there like that. I went and said, ‘Hello ma’am.’ I won’t shy away from that. Unless I feel like someone needs their space, that much emotional intelligence I have, but otherwise, I would just go and speak,” she added.
