Police observer reviews preparedness in Ramanathapuram district; Candidates told about guidelines of ECI in Sivaganga district by observers
Poll observer (police) Jalindar Dattareya Subekar presided over a review meeting in Ramanathapuram district on Thursday.
According to a press release, the observer reviewed the poll preparedness and held discussions with the sub-division officers. Superintendent of Police G Chandeesh explained the arrangements made and the enforcement across the district.
The officers were also told to curb criminal activities in their respective station and sub-division jurisdiction. The initiatives undertaken by the police to create awareness and sensitization were discussed during the meeting. The voters should have the impression that they can vote in a free and fair environment in a peaceful manner. The surveillance mechanism to maintain law and order across the district also figured in the meeting, the release added.
The poll observers briefed the candidates and their representatives in the district about the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
According to a press release, the poll observers (general) Shama Parveen and Mohan Lal (expenditure) held a meeting with the candidates and their representatives in Tirupathur Assembly Constituency. During the meeting, returning officers including Sivabalan, Manickavasagan and Naganathan were present.
Likewise, the observers held a meeting with the final list of candidates in fray for the Karaikudi AC, post withdrawal period was over on April 9 at the office of the sub-divisional magistrate Devakottai in which Ayush Venkat Vats and other officers participated.
