KTR urges Union HM Amit Shah to investigate alleged financial irregularities and benami dealings involving Telangana's Chief Minister.
HYDERABAD
Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to institute a thorough investigation into the alleged financial irregularities and allocation of contracts by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the possible money laundering linked to KLSR Infratech, which he claimed was a benami company of the CM’s kin.
In a letter addressed to the Union Home Minister, the BRS leader requested that central investigative agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) conduct a comprehensive probe.
Mr. Rama Rao raised concerns over the alleged deteriorating law and order situation in Telangana and the alleged irregular allocation of government contracts to KLSR Infratech. He claimed that during the investigation of cases related to KLSR Infratech, the State government tampered with evidence under the directions of the Chief Minister.
Claiming tampering of evidence, he said that State government officials had informed the High Court that crucial evidence collected in the case had gone missing. The incident reflected the pressure being exerted on investigative agencies.
Mr. Rama Rao alleged that the Chief Minister had misused his authority and pressured officials to destroy the evidence in order to protect his benami company. Further, he said that public confidence in the police and investigative agencies had severely eroded.
