Heavy rain affects life in coastal Odisha; Bhubaneswar, Puri register all-time high record

According to preliminary reports, two persons lost their lives because of wall collapse in Kendrapara district while vast areas were inundated.
Extremely heavy rain has thrown normal life out of gear in coastal Odisha with Bhubaneswar and Puri cities registering all-time high record rainfall on Monday. According to rainfall recorded between 8.30 a.m. on Sunday and 7.30 a.m. on Monday (, Puri received 341 mm rainfall shattering a 87-year-old record by a huge margin. On September 20, 1934, had Puri received 210.8 mm rainfall. Similarly, Bhubaneswar recorded 195 mm rainfall since 8.30 am on Sunday , breaking a 63-year-old record.
